Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how your logs help improve our models.

Version: 9 October 2026. PIJAlance Magazine Limited is responsible for your personal data under this policy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. This policy covers api.chatniai.com. It sits alongside our Terms and Conditions.

What we collect

API keys are stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read your key after it is created.

Why we use it

Using logs to improve our models: your consent

We may use the logs of your use of the Service, including the content you submit and the results returned, to train, test and improve our own models. By using our models you consent to this, and you confirmed that consent when you accepted these documents. We do not sell your content or publish it. Where we can, we remove direct identifiers such as names and email addresses first. Content that your organisation marks as confidential should not be sent to the Service. You may withdraw consent for future use by writing to us, and we will stop using your future logs for model improvement, although you may then no longer be able to use the Service. Material already used to improve a model cannot always be taken back out of it.

Who else handles it

To give you the Service we use other providers acting for us: cloud hosting and storage, automation, AI model providers, web search and page-reading providers, and email delivery. They receive only what they need to do their part, such as the text of a claim. Some of them are outside Nigeria. Where data leaves Nigeria we take reasonable steps to protect it. We do not share your data for other companies' advertising. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep workspace data while the workspace is active and for as long as needed afterwards for security, accounting and legal reasons, and then delete or anonymise it. Community posts stay visible until you or a moderator remove them.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to certain use, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. To use any right, write to us through the community or pijalance.com, and we will reply within a reasonable time.

Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit, hashed keys and per-workspace separation. No system is perfectly secure, so please use strong sign-in practices and keep keys private. See Security.

Children

The Service is for organisations and is not meant for people under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will ask you to accept the new version before you carry on.
