The Check tool
Check text inside your workspace. No code, no copying keys.
The Check tool is a page in your workspace. You paste text, press a button and read the result.
How to use it
- Open itSign in, then click Check a claim in the left menu.
- Choose a languagePick the language of the text. If you are unsure leave it on English.
- Paste your textA sentence works. A short article works too. For very long text, check it in parts.
- Press CheckYou will see a pulsing dot while it works. This can take a minute or more.
- Read the resultYou get a verdict, a confidence level, the sources and a write-up. Always read the sources.
What the results mean
- Verified true, False, Misleading... are the nine verdicts. See Verdicts.
- Held for your editor means it was not sure. Nothing is published as a finding. It appears in Review queue.
Counts as a checkEvery press of Check uses one of your free checks for the month.
Problems

| Turn on the Check tool | No key is stored in this browser yet. | Press the button, or paste a key if you have one. |
| Your key was rejected | The stored key was revoked. | Press Turn on again, or paste a new key. |
| Monthly allowance used | You reached 100 checks. | Wait for the new month. |
| Taking longer than usual | A long text or a busy moment. | Wait, or press Check again with less text. |
