Check a link
Paste a web page or YouTube link. Every checkable claim gets its own verdict.
- Open itIn your workspace menu, click Check a link.
- Paste the linkA full address, such as https://example.com/article. YouTube links work if the video has captions.
- Press GoIt reads the page, finds the claims that can be checked, searches for evidence for each, and gives a verdict per claim. This takes a minute or two.
- Read the resultYou see an overall rating, each claim with its reason and sources, and a suggestion for how to check further.
Free trialsFree workspaces get 5 uses of each tool a month. Every use also counts toward your 100 monthly checks. Premium workspaces have no trial limits. When a trial is used up, the page tells you plainly and shows the upgrade note.
Use it from code, with your API key
The same API key you use for checks also runs this tool. Send a link, get a job back, then ask for the result.
curl -X POST https://api.chatniai.com/v1/link \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" \
-d '{"url":"https://example.com/article"}'
You get {"accepted":true,"job_id":"..."} with status 202. Then repeat GET /v1/job/JOB_ID with the same key every few seconds until state is done. It counts as one of your 5 free uses a month, and is not counted if it fails to start.
What it cannot read
- Posts on Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok. These sites block readers. Paste the post text into Check a claim instead.
- Pages behind a login or paywall.
- YouTube videos without captions.
| Verdict | Meaning |
|---|---|
| true | Evidence clearly confirms it. |
| mostly true | Right, but missing context. |
| misleading | Part right, but gives a false impression. |
| false | Evidence clearly contradicts it. |
| unproven | The evidence does not settle it. This is not the same as false. |
A link check cannot tell if a video or image was made or edited by AI. Never treat it as proof either way.
